AXA Insurance Ireland is one of Irelands largest and oldest insurance companies and AXA Worldwide is one of the top three globally. Our design brief was to create a new branch desk look and feel. AXA wanted to build on their customer focused ethos and rebrand their retail units with a friendly, contemporary interior. Our team developed some concept 3D virtual reality images and through client consultations refined the design to this first of the new branded units. AXA wanted an airy open feel, however they also required an element of financial privacy to discuss requirements and policies so, in addition to the marketing wall displays, we designed a bespoke furniture solution which included desks that are height adjustable for wheelchair users and breakout booths that can accommodate buggies etc. This ensures AXA’s commitment to inclusivity for all their clients. Another key feature was the transitional carpet design which flowed from the edges towards a central field design and back to a solid edge. Recessed light boxes on a large linear format create a dynamic marketing message to each of the booths. Digital marketing screens reinforce the AXA message. Each AXA branch will have a full height photographic wall graphic which gives each branch a distinct local character. The Omagh branch has a dramatic image of the River Drumragh at night. Front and rear entrances provided a challenge to the design team and new external illuminated signage helped with directional wayfinding. Reaction to the new branch design has been overwhelmingly positive with staff embracing the new modern, collaborative space.
