Overview

Alpha designed and supplied furniture for the 5th and 6th (mezzanine) floors of the Sir Alexander Stone Building at The University of Glasgow. The space is occupied by Post-Graduate students who spend a substantial amount of time studying here, therefore the aim was to create an eye-catching and welcoming environment for the students.

Within the space is a variety of hot-desking and break-out areas, as well as allocated student desks. A new tea-prep area was developed, along with bold, brightly coloured lockers. Bespoke lighting was manufactured in order to take advantage of the high ceilings and create a statement within the space. A secondary statement piece is the large moss feature that stretches along the left wall.

A vibrant palette of colours combined with a choice of pastel feature walls and a design-led carpet layout ensured this area would be the showpiece space on campus.
